Our Venues

Unique and different...that’s Rivers!
If you are looking for something that little bit different, we are the perfect place to celebrate your special function or event. Located within the grounds of Rivers of Yarrambat, our setting provides an experience that will have your guests talking. Day time and evening functions are equally special so come and enjoy the Rivers experience!

Our Venues
We have three stunning venues to offer; two suit small boutique day time functions and the other is for larger day and evening functions.

The Gallery is a stunning stand alone day time and evening venue. It features 30 ft tall exposed tallowood eucalyptus posts in a rustic, architecturally designed building with a modern twist. By day it accentuates an airy natural light including lakeside views and by night, a striking atmosphere with feature fairy lights under the terrace. It caters for 50 to 150 guests, depending on the style of function chosen.

The Loft is purely a day time venue and as the name suggests, is located upstairs from our main day time café. It is a smaller and more intimate venue that boasts a seductive and elegant mood with its dark tones and smart fit out. It caters for 25 -50 guests, depending on the style of function chosen .

The Redbox is a private dining room located in the wellbeing precinct just off the board walk. It is a luncheon venue which caters exclusively for a very special 20 guests from Sunday-Friday. It offers an upmarket all inclusive two or three course signature lunch package.

Dear Sue,  Just thought I would give you some feedback about the afternoon tea in the upstairs room last Sunday for my 80th birthday..  You and your staff have done an outstanding job with the setting up of the room, and especially the tables, it all looked very swish.   Craig and the young lady looked after us exceptionally well. Nothing was too much trouble, and they could not do enough for us.  I only heard praises from my friends and family. The food was gourmet and plentiful. The seating was comfortable and not crowded. Thank you also for letting Renata put up the decorations, they just completed the picture.  The children enjoyed their little lunch boxes. I’m so glad you thought of that. They ate everything provided in them.  So, all in all, I will certainly recommend the venue to other friends. The ones that were present already said they wanted to come back to Rivers for some shopping, and would use the function  venues without hesitation. Food & Beverage

Organising A Function or Event
We offer a wide range of options to cater for various styles and budgets. By day we offer brunches, morning and afternoon teas, as well as a variety of lunch options. By night we offer relaxed finger food parties, gorgeous buffets, shared table menus, casual terrace barbeques (seasonal) and lovely sit down dinners.

Custom Functions
Some guests love to create their own function which is what our custom made functions are all about. You simply choose the menu, drinks and styling - whether it be us doing the styling for you, or you creating your own look and feel, setting up your own styling prior to your function. Custom made functions are available 7 days a week, both day time and evening. Please note that to avoid a venue charge, there are minimum spends on food that apply and these vary depending on which day/night you choose and the time of year.

All Inclusive Functions
Our all inclusive option is our most popular package. This is where you leave everything up to us (although you are more than welcome to add some of your own special touches if you like)! Everything is included from food, drinks and styling with no additional costs to pay. All inclusive functions are available 7 days a week, however these are essential on Saturday nights unless you would like to custom make your function where a minimum spend applies.

Beverages
There are a number of options available when choosing beverages for your function. Full details are outlined in our separate beverage information.

Beverage Package
Beverages packages are popular as you know exactly how much you are spending and you are not presented with a beverage account to pay at the completion of your function. There are three packages to choose from, along with differing pricing to match the duration of your function. Please note that you are unable to substitute items from one package to another or make alternations to the set packages, however you can add to a package.

Consumption Tab
This option allows you to pre-select and tailor your own range of beverages from our consumption list. The beverages are priced per bottle and/or per carafe/glass depending on the style of function and are served to your guests by wait staff for both stand up and sit down functions.

Feature Drinks
For a real wow factor and to add a point of difference to your special occasion, why not add a feature drink onto your chosen option? Choose from our list of alcoholic and non alcoholic punches, sangria & cocktails which can either be served purely on arrival with a set pre-paid amount or served continuously throughout the duration of your function and charged on consumption.

Weddings at Rivers

For a truly unique and memorable wedding, you can’t go past Rivers. This gorgeous haven is set in the most peaceful and tranquil lakeside setting within an grounds of Rivers of Yarrambat— a destination lifestyle centre. Conveniently located in the Diamond Valley, Rivers is only 45 minutes north east from Melbourne, 25 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the Yarra Valley.

Our Ceremonies
Rivers is the perfect place for your special wedding ceremony. Our garden, boardwalk and terrace lakeside settings create beautiful backdrops for photo opportunities for the bride, groom and bridal party. We have ample free off street parking and can cater for the smallest intimate wedding to larger weddings of up to 150 guests.

Our Celebration Reception
We cater for all tastes and budget by offering an extensive range of packages for you to choose from. These range from traditional, contemporary, casual to upmarket. Our lunches and dinners are fabulous and include choices of finger food, shared table, buffet and sit down dinners. If you are looking for something different you might like our fabulous breakfast, fine afternoon teas, themed or unique BBQ dinner. Our Event Styling
Our venues showcase the simplicity of stunning architecture with feature plants and surrounds. Our terrace is dappled with fairy lights as night falls. To personalise your styling, we also offer a fabulous range of affordable, decorative, stylish centre and feature pieces to add to the individuality of your wedding. For something that little bit different, we offer ‘Themed’ Party/Event packages providing a real point of difference. Each theme includes styling, entertainment and options of food & beverages to match. From Casino Royale to a Murder Mystery or Spanish Fiesta Party, our Themed packages are completely unique, fun and will have your guests taking part and getting into the swing of things!

Kids Parties

 

Kids Workshop Parties
Rivers is the perfect playground for kids parties! Our parties are unique, fun, hands on and educational. We have a range of different options to choose from. Leave it all to us, take out the stress and make it an enjoyable experience! Most of our parties are held on Saturdays, unless it’s school  holidays. Parties generally run with starting times of 10am,12pm or 2pm. If you wish to run a party on a Sunday or public holiday, a surcharge applies.

Our workshop parties are designed to suit children aged from 5-11 years old.  We can facilitate up to 30 children, with a minimum of 15 required. The focus of workshop parties is to educate and for children to have a hands experience creating and making food/arts/crafts to take home.

Supervision
Our parties are facilitated by a trained Rivers team member who has the appropriate working with children check and requirements to safely care and supervise the children. We require two to four parents to stay and be present at the party depending on the number of children, however all parents are welcome to stay (and often do to have a catch up!). When children are younger the adults may be required to assist them with the activity.

Venues
The location of each party varies depending on the weather, the number of children and the workshop you choose. Venues include The Gallery, The Treetops Room, The Loft, The Terrace and The Outdoor Living Room.
* The meeting point for all parties is in the main entrance of Rivers (within the gift shop.)

Custom Parties

You can work to a budget and decide on what you would like to include.You simply choose the workshop party you would like for us to run and then additional add ons such as food and beverage and styling.

Parents
Adults-Make it a catch up for you too!
Most hosts invite the other parents to stay and to enjoy coffee, drinks and some light food. It’s a great way of parents seeing what the kids are doing, but a great chance for parents to catch up too! Platters need to be ordered at the time of finalising the details for your child’s party.  (No later than 7 days prior) Our Functions Coordinator can help you with your selection of platters depending on anticipated numbers attending.

Dietary Considerations
Both of our signature food party menus and platters are completely nut free. We are also able to cater for Gluten Free Diets by selecting the ‘Healthy Choice’ Party Menu,
for which we make a couple of small alterations. It is essential that we are aware of dietary information prior to the party. Not all diets and allergies can be catered for so please talk to us.

Workshop Party Themes

DIY Vegie & Herb Garden  

Watching your own garden grow is so much fun!

Kids will participate in this hands on, engaging and educational workshop about building and sustaining their own veggie garden. They will learn about what vegetables and herbs are in season and when to plant them. They will then plant up their own garden with a selection of seasonal vegetables herbs.
DIY Terrarium  
Kids will learn about what Terrariums need to grown and survive. They will then be guided through making their own terrarium to take home and look after. Depending on the time of year, the plants used will be either succulents or carnivorous plants.
DIY Flower Crown  
Kids will learn about all the different parts to flowers and leaves and the important elements they need to grow. They will then make a gorgeous floral and foliage flower crown that they can wear making them feel like a real princess!
DIY Chocolate Brown Jar  
This creative workshop is both fun and crafty! Kids will learn about how to bake the perfect brownie and the variations that they can do when making them at home. They will then layer the ingredients into their own jar and finish it off with a paper wrap and a label which comes complete with baking instructions.
DIY Pizza  
Kids will put on their aprons and chefs hats to participate in hands on, engaging and educational workshop. They will learn about the history of pizza and how to make their own pizza dough at home with a recipe provided. They will then roll out dough and customise their pizza with a range of fillings. This is then cooked and packaged for them to take home and eat.
DIY Fairy & Goblin Garden  
Kids will learn about the magic and history behind fairies, goblins and gnomes and storytelling around the world. Using their imagination they will then make their own magical fairy or goblin garden complete with a fairy house, mushroom, plants, moss and a path...not to forget the fairy or the gnome!
DIY Chocolate Treats  
Who doesn't love chocolate? The kids will learn about the growing of the cocoa bean and the how chocolate is made. They will then make a range of sweet treats including chocolate crackles, rocky road and hot chocolate spoons. The workshop is completed with the packaging of their goodies to take them home to enjoy.

Memorials

At Rivers we offer a beautiful, tranquil setting making it the perfect place to reflect and celebrate the life of your loved one for a special memorial.

You can choose from our standard range of function packages offered or you can choose from our specially formulated memorial packages for groups of 50-150 guests. 

The Gallery offers a digital flat screen TV where you can play a slideshow of photos for your guests. We can also play your chosen music and there is a wireless microphone system if required. Our fine professional service matched with a smile will not go unnoticed and we strive to ensure that you and your guests are taken care of in every way possible.

Fundraisers

Apart from the Charity High Teas that are run by Rivers throughout the year, we have hosted many Charity Fundraisers at The Gallery organised by schools, clubs and groups who are looking  for something a different. It’s a great way of raising money by selling tickets to the event at a higher price that what we charge.

We recently hosted an Afternoon Tea fundraiser for The World’s Greatest Shave which was a huge success. Rivers donated time for the hair studio staff to attend the event and shave the heads of the three lovely women who between them raised over $20,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
